The EuroVolley 2021 Women - Ambassadors from Serbia!
Serbia will be one of the four host countries for this year’s EuroVolley Women event, alongside Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia later this summer and two of the biggest names from the Serbian national team have been chosen to be part of the Ambassadors Programme.
The Ambassadors Programme brings together two fantastic players from each of the four host countries per gender. In the coming months leading up to the start of the events, the eight Ambassadors will be actively engaging with fans across all CEV platforms and beyond, taking everyone along on the EuroVolley 2021 journey via exclusive content especially designed to give fans a sneak peek into their own experiences.
Over the past week we have gradually announced the Ambassadors from each host country, and after announcing the Ambassadors from the other three countries, time has come to reveal the final country Ambassadors from Serbia: Tijana Bošković and Maja Ognjenović.
Tijana Bošković“It is a great pleasure to be an Ambasador of such a big event. This will be my 4th European Championship and together with my team made history that we are very proud of. I am very excited that our home country will be the host of the 2021 ECH. It will be my 3rd time playing in Serbia with the national team. I am sure that we will show great hospitality and I hope that the situation with the pandemic will be much better and that we will have support from our fans.”
Both experts and amateurs talk about Tijana Bošković in superlatives. She is appreciated and respected by all volleyball fans, but also by those who do not follow this sport. She is a modest and quiet girl. But on the field of play she is a real beast.
She started her professional career in the volleyball club Vizura from Belgrade, back in 2011. Shortly afterwards, she found herself in the youth and junior national teams of Serbia. It didn't take long for the senior head coach Zoran Terzić to notice her talent, so in 2014 she made her debut for the first team at the FIVB World Championship.

Maja Ognjenović“I feel really proud and honoured to be chosen as Ambassador of big competition as EuroVolley it is, especially because we are one of the host countries, again. Excitement is, of course, huge and we can't wait to play in our capital city, after 10 years.”
Maja Ognjenović is a symbol of the women's volleyball national team of Serbia. She was on the court when we won the first major medal with the senior women’s national team back at the 2006 FIVB World Championship. She was also there when the planet was conquered in 2018, when the team won gold at the same competiton. Her courage, audacity and different perspective on the game made her one of the best setters of all time.
